DreadOut 2 Gameplay
People who love horror games are definitely familiar with the Indonesian horror game called DreadOut. What is DreadOut?
DreadOut is a horror game first introduced globally in 2014 by Digital Happiness Developer from Indonesia and followed by Dreadout: Keepers of The Dark, which launched a year later.
In this DreadOut game, Indonesian culture is also packaged very well so that when playing it, we can feel the nuances. The storyline in DreadOut 1 briefly tells that Linda and her friends, namely Ira, Shelly, Yayan, Doni, and their teacher Mrs. Siska are on a trip. They find a broken bridge leading to a mysterious foggy old town. They stopped the car to look around the city of nowhere until they found an old school. Here, DreadOut begins; Linda has to experience a terrifying adventure with the wandering spirits that inhabit the old school.
After the success of the DreadOut 1, the developer then developed this game again and launched DreadOut 2 in 2020.
In DreadOut 2, the story tells about the continuation of Linda, who had to lose her friends and her teacher. In DreadOut 2, Linda was bullied at school. She was considered a problem child because her friends and teacher died during a trip in DreadOut 1. However, it turned out that Linda had to go through many problems, one of which was entering another dimension to fight the spirit, demon, and her dark doppelganger. Finally, she has to fight the final boss, her own teacher, Mrs. Siska. There will be 7 acts that players must pass to reach the ending, from 0 to 6.
The battles in the game are still the same as in the first launch; Linda uses her cellphone called Irisphone to fight ghosts. However, there is an addition to the gameplay design; players can turn on the flashlight without having to point their cellphone camera at the ghosts. Then, there is gameplay in action, where Linda can fight using an ax, knife, or dagger so that the game is not monotonous.
In addition to the main story to reveal the truth behind DreadOut 1, in DreadOut 2, there will also be many Side Stories, Easter Eggs & Urban Legend that players can find later to complete Ghostpedia.
In the side story, we can choose the answer option when talking to humans or supernatural beings, and it will lead us to a different storyline.
What’s exciting is that we can choose two different endings depending on the answer options we choose at the end.
